Zithromax, Generic name Azithromycin.
Zithromax is a macrolide antibitotic which slows growth, and sometimes kills, sensitive bacteria. It reduces the production of important proteins that the bacteria needs to survive and grow.
Zithromax treats many different types of bacterial infections such as, respiratory infections, skin infections, ear infections, and sexually transmitted diseases.
Common Side Effects of Zithromax
- mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or stomach pain
- dizziness, tired feeling, or headache
- nervous feeling, sleep problems (insomnia)
- vaginal itching or discharge
- mild itching or skin rash
- ringing in your ears, problems with hearing
- decreased sense of taste or smell.
